Ascend 2022 – “Taking your cloud journey to new heights” co-hosted by Systems and AWS

Wednesday, November 23, 2022 – With glorified 10 months of achieving historic accolades and staggering business growth, Systems Limited closes this year with yet another feather in the cap by successfully organizing first-ever collaborative event with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and SAP.
Ascend 2022 took place in Karachi with Sarah Irfan from the marketing team kicking off the event by emphasizing the importance of the cloud in today’s digitally charged world. She further highlighted key focus areas for enterprises to fast-track and innovate their transformation journey across different business verticals.
Starting with the keynote speech, Shahzad Khan, Head of Sales for Pakistan at AWS, shed light on the growing interest in cloud adoption in Pakistan and how the focus areas for businesses are shifting. Elaborating more on this, he added, “You need to have great trust in the platform that is running your mission-critical applications. You also need to have the same interest with the partners who are serving you in providing those solutions and that is what we expect from our partnership with Sytems Limited, SAP, and AWS.”
Progressing forward, Naveed Ali Tahir, Head of SAP Services at Systems Limited, shared Systems Limited’s journey as a global SI company, serving regionally and globally for over four decades. He explained the history of ERP adoption throughout the years and the shift towards SAP, “Certainly, we’ve been working with ERPs for several decades, but it was two years ago that we understood and realized that hardcore ERP systems such as SAP needed to now be addressed in this market as well.” He further added, “I believe Systems Limited comes in as a true SI to help you understand how to move SAP workloads which are business critical, and indeed these are the most valuable investments any firms will have.”
The in-person event featured a technology showcase with Victor Marz, SAP Business Leader at AWS presenting the case for AI-infused SAP products and their intelligent enterprise capabilities that are turning heads in the business world with innovation and unbeatable agility. Sharing his thoughts on Ascend 2022, he stated, “It was great to speak on the benefits of running SAP on AWS, and specifically RISE on AWS. It’s been a fantastic experience with many good questions, and I hope to visit many more times to interact with our joint customers in Pakistan.”
Proceeding with the event agenda, Muhammad Ilyas – Head of Digital Infrastructure, moderated a coffee table discussion with Ghufran Usmani – Head of Telco Delivery at Systems Limited, and Maroof Ali, COO Cybernet where they discussed the evolution of digital infrastructure in Pakistan and the country’s adoption of cutting-edge ERP technology to meet the budding need for tangible and high-impact businesses outcomes.
Shamuel Ali, Director – New Business for SAP, provided the audience with a product overview of RISE with SAP, and how it offers scalability, seamless integration, and cost competitiveness with accelerated cloud adoption through a comprehensive suite of Cloud ERP services.
CEO and MD at Systems Limited, Asif Peer, provided his valuable thoughts on SAP’s powerful business automation capabilities and shared insights around promising business opportunities and business innovation prospects SAP-powered solutions have to offer. He added, “Today cloud is not an option but a key business element. I believe we have one of the best team deployed that can take care of your cloud pain, integration, data, digital transformation, and on top of that, ERP as well.”
He concluded the discourse by emphasizing agility and an innovation-centered mindset by stating enterprises should think big, think new, and think quick in today’s fast-paced world.
Ascend 2022 concluded with an interactive networking session where technology experts engaged with individuals for their technical and business-related queries.
