Systems Limited Honored with Federal Recognition

3rd January 2021 – Celebrations of remarkable achievements continued for Systems Limited as the company hosted an exclusive event at the Karachi Marriot Hotel for prominent figures of the Pakistani IT industry. Pakistan’s premier technology company ended 2020 on a high note as it was included in the Forbes Asia Best Under A Billion list and finished among the top 3 publicly traded companies on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunication, Mr Syed Amin Ul Haque graced the occasion to acknowledge and certify these achievements and bestowed federal recognition to Systems Limited. Applauding the company’s Forbes accolade, the Federal Minister admired Systems Limited CEO & Managing Director Mr Asif Peer’s leadership and the team’s efforts that added grace to our National Flag in a major competition in Asia. He further termed the IT sector’s recent growth to be “remarkable and surpassing all traditional sectors,” further emphasizing that the time is right for the country’s traditional sectors to consider the potential of IT export business in Pakistan.
“With the overwhelming business response, Pakistan needs serious investments in branding, infrastructure and capacity building and other resources, not only from the government, but also from the private sector,” said Mr Syed Amin Ul Haque.
Addressing the distinguished guests, Mr. Asif Peer said, “It has been a tremendous journey. I have seen a very close collaboration between the government, the PSEB, our Prime Minister, and Federal Minister. We appreciate the way the government helped us and we remained open while following protocols. We were approached by neighbouring countries to take upon the additional workloads, which is a huge opportunity.”
2020 has been a year of unprecedented achievements for Systems Limited. The company made history as being the first and only Pakistani IT company to be named in the Forbes list where 200 companies were inducted into a well-researched list from the Asia-Pacific region with less than $1 billion in revenue. Moreover, the company defied the odds and continued its surging growth in the year to win multiple honours at the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) Awards as the country’s Top IT Exporter for 2019.
