Systems Limited and IBM co-host “SysCloud 2020 – Time to Bring Cloud to the Ground”

Tuesday, 15th September 2020 – Systems Limited in collaboration with IBM hosted the “SysCloud 2020 – Time to Bring Cloud to the Ground” live webinar. The virtual event highlighted how enterprises can leverage cloud-native applications, containerization, and DevOps practices to accelerate their software development life cycle and, respond to development challenges with agility.
Rao Hamid, General Manager Domestic Operations, System Limited, opened the session with a keynote speech where he highlighted the importance of cloud adoption terming it as a key pillar of any organization’s digital strategy, further stressing that “Applications should be developed in a way that they can live and breathe in the cloud.”
Ovais Khan, Head of Global Integration Services, Systems Limited, then shared his thoughts on how cloud adoption is no longer a thing of the future, but the backbone of today’s digital transformation initiatives. He further presented how the new container-based technology is paving the way for remarkable levels of scalability and resource savings in cloud application deployment.
Joining in from IBM was Asim Noorani, Hybrid Cloud Technical Sales Lead, who explained how cloud native is playing an evolutionary role in the realm of cloud transformation and how IBM can help in an enterprise’s complete cloud journey. He detailed how IBM’s state-of-the-art IBM Cloud Pak for Applications addresses today’s cloud transformation needs by offering robust, user-friendly, enterprise-ready, containerized software solutions that enable an open, faster, and highly secure way to move business applications to the cloud.
This was followed by a technical demonstration from Hammad-ur-Rehman, Track Lead for Infrastructure and Administration at Systems Limited, on how companies can leverage IBM Cloud Pak for integration and step into application modernization. He used IBM App Connect Enterprise, a component of IBM Cloud Pak for Integration and demonstrated how to deploy applications on it and how to benefit from Horizontal Pod Autoscaler.
The webinar concluded with a live Q&A session where the experts took and answered questions of the attendees.
The need for businesses to embrace digital transformation has seen a disruptive shift in how software is developed, deployed and used, making it ever so important to ship code faster without compromising quality and security.
