Systems and IBM hosted “Demystifying APIs in Digital Disruption” on November 26, 2018 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi. The event aimed to highlight the importance of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), digital building blocks that use existing IT investments to help businesses achieve higher customer retention, gain access to a wider market, and realize new revenue channels.
“Being one of the leaders of the global technology community, IBM has revolutionized the way in which organizations and societies operate and solve problems,” said Khurram Safdar, Head of Marketing and Customer Experience at Systems, as he welcomed the attendees. “I feel confident and proud in saying that Systems is also a part of that exclusive community.”
The event began with an informative presentation on the API Economy by Mairaj Yousuf, Hybrid Cloud Sales Leader in Pakistan & Afghanistan at IBM. “API Economy is the key to digital transformation,” said Mairaj. “It is very important for all organizations to broaden their spectrum and collaborate with the rising organizations around them. This will not only extend their reach but also enable them to bring innovation within their businesses in a timely and cost-effective manner.”
The presentation was followed by a panel discussion on how Systems enabled some of its customers to achieve digital transformation using IBM’s API Connect solution. The discussion was moderated by Ovais Khan, VP of Professional Services, BPM & Middleware, Systems, and the panelists included Asif Peer, CEO of Systems; Rao Hamid, CCO Systems; and Shoaib Qureshi, Client Technical Architect, IBM. “Our goal is to help our customers think things through and give direction. Systems has been delivering for the past 40 years. We are proud to work in collaboration with IBM. There is no other way to succeed in today’s world without technology,” said Asif Peer.
The event ended with one-to-one consultation sessions between the attendees and API experts from Systems and IBM.
