March 14, 2019
Systems in collaboration with IBM hosted “Enhancing Digital Security Operations” on March 13 at Karachi Marriott Hotel. The event highlighted the importance of cybersecurity and enforcing compliance according to industry standards in light of recent global security breaches.
The event began with an informative presentation on "How to Build a Cyber-Resilient Organization" by Faraz Rafique, Technical Security Lead at IBM, and Afzal Rehman, Technical Sales Specialist at IBM.
The presentation was followed by a case study panel discussion on how Systems enabled some of its customers to secure their business operations using IBM's security product suite. The discussion was moderated by Usman Ahmed, Senior Manager of Information Security at Systems, and the panelists included Afzal Rehman, Technical Sales Specialist at IBM; Tauqeer Ahmed, AVP Information Security at Systems; and Fahad Azam, Head of Information Security at Meezan Bank.
"67% of the threats to organizations are insider threats and 30% are outsider threats,” said Afzal Rehman, Technical Sales Specialist at IBM on security challenges. “You need to adopt a holistic approach to discovery and classification of data security threats in your organization."
“Having the right mindset and thought process is fundamental to your organization-wide data and application security plan,” said Asif Peer, CEO, Systems Limited. “If that is not there, you are at a huge risk of costly threats."
The event concluded with one-on-one consultations on digital security between attendees and InfoSec professionals.
