Systems Limited wins Top IT Exporter honors in multiple categories at the PSEB IT Export Awards 2019

Wednesday, 19th August 2020 – Systems Limited has won big at the 2019 PSEB IT Export Awards by bagging Platinum Awards in the ‘Top IT Exporter 2019’ and ‘Top IT Consultancy Services Exporter’ categories. The award ceremony was held on 19th August 2020 at the Marriott Hotel, Islamabad.

Hosted by the Pakistan Software Export Board, the IT Export Awards are held to acknowledge Pakistan’s top IT exporters for their remarkable contributions to the country’s IT sector as well as the economy. Winners are awarded based on export remittances in purpose codes assigned to the IT & ITeS sector, duly verified by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The event was attended by Mr. Syed Amin Ul Haque, Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunication as the chief guest, PSEB board members, and prominent figures from Pakistan’s IT industry.

Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, Mr Syed Amin Ul Haque showed great appreciation to the IT sector for playing a significant role in Pakistan’s economic growth and attracting major foreign investments to the country. He stated that the IT sector of Pakistan has full potential to become the biggest player of the country’s export industry in the coming years, and highlighted that the IT Ministry will jointly work with all the concerned authorities to facilitate the sector’s progress. He also extended his congratulations on the IT sector’s excellent performance even during the COVID-19 pandemic by increasing exports to $1.3 billion.

Accepting the awards, Mr. Asif Peer, CEO of Systems Limited, welcomed Mr. Syed Amin Ul Haque’s commitment of making collaborative efforts to further accelerate the IT sector’s growth. “If something is required today, it is an investment in the IT sector because this is the only sector in Pakistan that is growing quicker than any other industry segment,” said Mr. Asif Peer. The CEO of Systems Limited also hailed the government’s decision to allow the country’s IT industry to function during the COVID-19 pandemic which has resulted in extraordinary growth of the sector.  “I am thankful to the government for doing a great job in allowing the IT sector to be open as an essential industry. This has had a huge effect on our revenue generation. We have all grown by leaps and bounds because we could tell our customers that because our government is supporting us, we are following the SOPs, but we are open. That mattered the most to our buyers and we are thankful to the authorities who helped us during this time,” said Mr. Asif Peer.
